The Paperweight was very popular in Victorian and Ewardian times and these are the more collectible pieces.
Crystal paperweights often simulated naturalistic themes inside the glass like dome with lizards,sea creatures or plants
Baccarat were especially known for their candy cane millefiore glass paperweights and their other crystal paperweights and these are avidly collected.
In more recent times Baccarat have brought out limited edition French Glass paperweights and these too are widely collected.

Millefiori paperweights are very popular and beautiful and a number of collectors look for engraved paperweights.
An antique paperweight is most prized when it is in perfect condition without scratches,bubbles or striations.Picture paperweights are rarely seen but were often Victorian souvenirs .
Glass is the common material used in Victorian or Edwardian times and today we are more used to seeing acrylic paperweights.
