Milk Glass
French Milk Glass was very popular between 1870 to 1880 and regained popularity in the 1920s. It was again popular in the 1950s where even milk bottles were produced in milk glass.
Milk Glass is a fairly thick white opaque glass and was made in a multitude of subjects from animals to vases ,small trays.and rosaries, covered dishes and pitchers.
There are variants of Milk Glass and these are in Blue or Black glass but are often listed with white (the most common color) .
It was an inexpensive glass and there are many collectors for milk glass.
The most common names you will come upon are Portieux and Vallerysthal
Many Milk Glass pieces were unmarked and I have acordingly not edited the Milk Glass section so you will see all kinds of The Glassware in the section.
