It is produced by adding Cobalt compounds to the molten glass during manufacture.
It has an unusual side effect in that when viewed with a flourescent light,cobalt glass it chages colour.
Another commercial version of Cobal Blue Glass is in the bottles of Harveys Bristol Cream Sherry.
This version is known as Bristol Blue Glass.
