Car Mascots

Car Mascots were an essential for luxury cars in the early 1900s.Manufacturers fought to get Lalique and other mascots for their cars.

These are now hugely collectible and reproductions do exist.
The most famous glass car mascots were by Rene Lalique but other smaller manufacturers did make them. These are even rarer than Lalique ones !

Motifs range from art nouveau nudes and speed to dragonflies, bears and other animals.
The rarest car mascots of all were illuminated and these were made for a small number of luxury automobiles with a lamp underneath them so that they glowed in the dark.

Some went enven further and had filter compartments so that you could change the colours that glowed through the mascot.
These are quite rare and very collectable.
