Blue Opaline Glass
Blue Opaline glass was very popular French Glass.
It was made in the 18th and 19th Century.
Pieces were made as bottles, decanters, glasses, goblets, candlesticks chandeliers and vases.
Blue Opaline is made as boxes, sconces, perfume bottles ,inkwells, and is also surprisingly made in other colors including Pink and Green..It has also infreqently been seen in Lemon and this is the scarcest and most valuable color.
Glassware in Blue Opaline is highly desirable and fairly rare.
There are look-alikes made in the 20th Century from Italy but these are usually marked with their origin.
Similar pieces from Portieux Vallerysthal and from Bristol are sometimes mistaken for Blue Opaline. These are not as rare nor as valuable
